Keratex Hoof Hardener.

Keratex Hoof Hardener formula is patented and includes a unique flexibility agent as well as a hardening agent, making this the perfect product to protect your horse from: brittle, cracked, soft or weak hooves; soft, sensitive or thin soles; repeated shoe loss; transition to barefoot; hoof damage.

Keratex Hoof Hardener will strengthen and protect shod and unshod hooves, to restore soundness after sensitive soles and to prevent existing cracks from laddering up or across the hooves.

It works by cross-linking the keratins and proteins within the internal structures of the hooves, making hooves stronger from the inside out. Because it absorbs into the hooves, it will not ‘come off’ in the field, it will continue to work within the hoof whatever the weather and whatever the field conditions.

USING KERATEX HOOF HARDENER.
- Apply twice a week for the first 2 weeks, then once a week.
- When applying, place the horse on a clean, dry floor in a well-ventilated place.
- Apply to clean, dry hooves.
- Do not ride or work the horse until the hooves are dry.
Due to the natural heat of the hooves this will take a few minutes.
- To prevent bruising, the liquid can also be applied to the sole, also let it run under the iron!
This is very useful for horses with flat feet and those with a thin hoof wall.
- Keratex Hoof Hardener only strengthens the horn it has come into contact with,
When the treatment is stopped, the hoof will regain its old condition as it grows out.
- Keratex Hoof Hardener can be used before applying Keratex Hoof Gel or Keratex Hoof Shield, of course the Keratex Hoof Hardener must have dried.

- DO NOT APPLY ON BLEEDING, SICK HOOVES.
- DO NOT APPLY ON THE CROWN, HEELS AND FROG.

SHOD HORSES.
* Horn will become harder in a few days and the nails will be more firmly attached.
Old pieces of horn may still break off, but the horn underneath will be harder and stronger.
A hoof grows on average 1 cm. per month, this gives an indication of how long it will take for cracks to grow out.

UNSHOD HORSES.
* For better performance, the hooves can be lightly sanded.
* After a few days of using Keratex Hoof Hardener, the sound of unshod hooves on the ground will become 'sharper', but for optimal results a period of 2 weeks is required.
