Lactastart® is a complementary dietary feed specially formulated for high-producing dairy cows to reduce the risk of acidosis.

The unique formulation of Lactastart® addresses this goal by: The nutritional support of rumen fermentation, reducing lactic acid production. The mechanical buffer of bicarbonate. 
The stimulation of saliva production. Lactastart® is also used to promote a good start to lactation. 
The synergy of choline, methionine, betaine, cobalt, niacin and sorbitol supports liver functions and rumen flora that are under high stress during this period. 
The rumen-protective effect of choline, methionine, betaine and niacin plays an important role in promoting intestinal absorption of these components. 
 

A dose of Lactastart® consists of an effervescent bolus and a controlled-release bolus that provide a rapid and sustained release of the components.

Lactastart® is used after calving and is specially designed for high yielding dairy cows.

Lactastart® is particularly recommended for dairy cows:

• with a high lactation yield

• with more than 2 lactations

• on a ration with too high fermentability or of poor quality

• with a poor ration change

• that are too fat during calving

One dose of Lactastart® can be repeated after 7 days if there is a risk of ketosis (lingering milk fever) or acidosis (rumen acidosis).

It is a support bolus that does not include antibiotics and does not count towards the animal day dose.
